Position Summary The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and executing the company's end-to-end supply chain strategy, covering demand planning, S&OP, procurement, material planning, production planning, importation, warehousing, inventory, transportation, logistics and distribution. The role carries overall accountability for material and product availability, service levels and customer requirements while optimizing total supply chain cost, working capital and operational efficiency. The Supply Chain Director will lead the development of supply chain systems, processes and capabilities, manage supply chain risks and business continuity, and support the company's growth, expansion and target market plans.
Key Responsibilities Develop and lead the supply chain strategy, aligning it with the company's overall strategic objectives, growth plans and target markets. Take end-to-end responsibility for the supply chain function, including S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply & Production Planning, Procurement, Importation, Inventory, Warehousing, Transportation, Shipping and Distribution. Lead the monthly S&OP cycle in coordination with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Production, ensuring an integrated and executable demand and supply plan. Lead demand planning and improve forecast accuracy, analyzing demand variances, seasonality, product launches and promotional activities and their impact on supply requirements. Approve material supply plans and MRP and production plans in coordination with the factory, ensuring the right balance between demand, production capacity, materials and inventory. Ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products and other supplies in the right quantity and at the right time, preventing production stoppages and stock-outs. Develop the procurement and sourcing strategy, manage key spend categories and develop local and international alternative sources of supply to ensure business continuity and competitiveness. Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers and service providers and manage contracts to achieve the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), rather than focusing solely on purchase price, within the approved authority matrix. Lead supplier qualification, approval and performance evaluation in coordination with Quality and relevant stakeholders, monitoring Supplier OTIF, quality, risks and improvement plans. Oversee all import and export activities, international shipping and customs clearance, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, documentation requirements and relevant systems. Develop inventory policies and manage Min/Max levels, Safety Stock and Days of Inventory, balancing service levels, working capital and supply continuity. Lead initiatives to reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory, prevent inventory aging and improve inventory turnover in coordination with Sales, Finance and Production. Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory accuracy, stock counting, material handling, warehouse space utilization and safety, while implementing best operating practices. Lead the transportation and distribution strategy, both inbound and outbound, optimizing routes, loads, transportation providers and logistics costs while maintaining required service levels. Ensure achievement of targeted customer and market service levels through OTIF / Fill Rate monitoring, analysis of supply failures and implementation of corrective actions. Take ownership of total supply chain cost, covering procurement, shipping, warehousing, handling and distribution, and lead savings and productivity improvement initiatives. Manage working capital linked to inventory and supplier terms in coordination with Finance, with a focus on improving the Cash-to-Cash Cycle. Prepare and manage the annual supply chain budget, monitor expenditure and variances, and ensure achievement of approved savings targets. Establish a comprehensive KPI framework and dashboards and provide regular executive reports to senior management covering performance, deviations, risks and required decisions. Lead supply chain risk management and business continuity planning, identifying critical materials, suppliers and supply routes, and developing and testing alternative plans. Lead the digital transformation of the supply chain through the effective use and development of ERP/MRP/WMS systems, planning and analytics tools, improving data quality, transparency and decision-making. Develop supply chain policies, procedures, SOPs and authority matrices, ensuring effective internal controls and compliance. Lead the organizational structure of the Supply Chain function, identify manpower requirements, develop leadership capabilities and establish performance management and succession plans. Manage the integrated performance of the supply chain teams covering procurement, planning, import/export, warehousing, logistics, shipping and distribution. Participate as a key member in strategic decisions relating to new product expansion, capacity, productivity, investments, Make-or-Buy decisions and supplier strategy. Support New Product Development (NPD) and product launches by ensuring the timely availability of materials, packaging, inventory, production capacity, logistics and energy requirements. Monitor raw material, packaging, freight and foreign exchange markets, as well as geopolitical and regulatory developments, and provide proactive recommendations to senior management. Represent the company with strategic suppliers, service providers, partners and relevant government authorities within the approved scope of authority. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and data-driven decision-making across all supply chain functions. Assume overall accountability for supply chain performance, balancing Cost, Cash, Service, Availability and Risk.
Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or another relevant discipline. MBA is preferred. Professional supply chain certification such as CSCP, CPIM or CPSM, or equivalent, is preferred. Professional Experience Minimum 12 years of experience in Supply Chain within an industrial / FMCG environment. At least 5 years in a senior leadership position within Supply Chain Management. Proven experience across multiple supply chain functions, including planning, procurement, inventory management and logistics. Strong experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams. Computer & Analytical Skills Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP or equivalent. Strong knowledge of WMS systems. Advanced Excel skills. Strong experience with Demand Planning tools and Business Intelligence (BI) / analytics platforms. Ability to develop and analyze supply chain dashboards and performance indicators. Languages Arabic: Fluent reading, writing and speaking. English: Advanced professional proficiency, including negotiation, contract management and international business communication.
