Sr. Electronics Engineer
Blackswan Space is building time critical software products for complex missions – a
cornerstone for enabling the future space economy as space traffic rapidly increases.
With the help of the European Space Agency, our team is developing a novel platform for
autonomous navigation for small satellites, leveraging computer vision and neural
networks.
We are looking for naturally curious minds with a can-do practical attitude eager to satisfy
their inner astronaut.
If you’re keen on working with cutting edge technologies and build electronics that fly to
space, we would love to hear from you !
Job Description
As an instrumental part of our engineering team, you will:
• Lead schematic capture, PCB and connector layout for flight and ground-support
electronics, including harnesses and interconnects for time-critical systems.
• Select components (EEE parts where applicable), manage BOMs, and own
supplier relationships for PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Plan and lead electronics verification campaigns: functional testing,
environmental tests (thermal, vibration), and electrical characterisation.
• Set up and operate laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum
analysers, power supplies, soldering stations) to debug and validate hardware.
• Collaborate with software engineers on hardware–software bring-up, board
support packages, and driver-level debugging.
• Support integration and test campaigns at system and spacecraft level, including
harness routing and connector management.
• Produce and maintain design and test documentation to standards required for
space qualification.
Job Requirements
• 5+ years developing electronics from design to deployed systems.

• Solid understanding of analogue and digital circuit design: power electronics,
signal integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation, and mixed-signal layout.
• Proficiency in a professional EDA tool such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or
equivalent (schematic capture and PCB layout).
• Experience with real-time embedded microcontrollers or FPGAs in a hardware
design context (interfacing, pinout, decoupling).
• Demonstrated “hands on” work – be ready to discuss specific boards or systems
you have designed, built, and tested end-to-end.
• Ability to read and author detailed technical documentation: schematics, ICDs,
test procedures, and verification matrices.
• Good English language skills both verbal and written.
Nice to Haves
• Previous experience working in the space industry is a strong plus: knowledge of
EEE components, radiation-tolerant design, ECSS qualification standards.
• Hands-on experience with cameras, inertial sensors and their interface
electronics.
• Good knowledge of communication protocols: CAN bus, RS-422, LVDS, or other
avionics / industrial communication standards.
• Familiarity with edge compute hardware: Jetson SBCs and CPU/GPU
electronics.
